NaturePhotographers > Roxanne Evans  > Nature > Reptiles
As any nature photographer in Florida has learned, you will have to learn to co-exist with alligators if you shoot near water (and sometimes they show up whether there is water or not). I have a great deal of respect for them and I've found that I enjoy observing and photographing them.

Roxanne Evans > Alligator Eyes
This was a very large alligator that was next to a picnic area I was shooting from and every time I moved, he sunk and then popped up about 3 feet in front of me. I finally decided it was time to give him his territory back as I've seen way too many foolish people at the parks feeding and harassing them--which creates a very dangerous animal.
Roxanne Evans > This alligator looks impressive at first glance but in truth it was a youngster and only about 3 feet long. It has a long way to go before he becomes the fearsome predator of the big screen. Right now it has a better chance of becoming the prey of the much larger alligators that lives in the area.
