As any nature photographer in Florida has learned, you will have to learn to co-exist with alligators if you shoot near water (and sometimes they show up whether there is water or not). I have a great deal of respect for them and I've found that I enjoy observing and photographing them.
This alligator looks impressive at first glance but in truth it was a youngster and only about 3 feet long. It has a long way to go before he becomes the fearsome predator of the big screen. Right now it has a better chance of becoming the prey of the much larger alligators that lives in the area.
